Luxe Letter: Fall 2019

Back in New Orleans

Hey, Y’all!

I have a few housekeeping updates, so I thought this would be the perfect time to bring back Luxe Letters. If you’re new here, Luxe Letters are basically like newsletter-styled blog posts where I get more personal and update you on what’s happening in my life outside of the beauty and lifestyle posts I normally write.

These went away, as I usually update you all more frequently via my newsletter but I know all of my blog readers may not be signed up for the newsletters, so here we are. If you want more personal content like this, as well as new posts sent to your inbox and a chance to win some really cool giveaways (one may be sooner than you think), be sure to sign up here.

Ok, moving on…

I Moved!

The biggest news I wanted to share is that I moved. In a previous post, I mentioned that I would be moving in October and, at the time, I was looking for an apartment in Brooklyn but plot twist, I actually moved back to New Orleans. I had been toying with the idea to move back for a while and was really unsure. Then, there were a lot of life events and signs that popped up that told me I should move back to NOLA.

If you’ve ever left a place for 2+ years and returned to live there again, then you most likely know that it’s not easy getting back into the swing of things. I haven’t been in New Orleans for more than a week at a time in 4 years and so much has changed. It’s been interesting trying to get back into the habit hanging out with hometown friends and getting into my everyday routine. Overall, I’m happy to be closer to my family and I’m excited to re-learn the city and discover new restaurants and other things to get into. I’m also looking forward to sharing the best of NOLA with you!

Working From Home

As for work, thankfully I was able to stay at my same job as the company allowed me to work remotely. I’ll occasionally be visiting New York, where the company is based, for in-person meetings and events, which means I’ll still be able to visit my sister, friends, and my favorite spots. Working from home is a very different experience from going to an office everyday but I’ve been able to set up my desk just how I like it and it’s helped me be very productive.

New Shop Pages

I’ve added new shop pages where you can find my beauty favorites, fashion staples, home essentials, and more. Use the “shop” tab at the top of this page or in the sidebar if you’re ever wondering where I purchased something I’ve talked about on the blog or instagram. You can also shop my Instagram feed here or using the LikeToKnow.it app. Follow me here.

Blog Schedule

I’ve gone back and forth about what a consistent schedule would look like for The Luxe Minimalist. I originally aimed to commit to posting 2-3x per week but soon realized how unrealistic that was, if I wanted to create high-quality content. Since I work full-time, I’ve decided not to put so much pressure on myself to avoid overwhelming myself, which results in no new posts. Instead, I’ve decided to commit to 1 post every week, because 1) I need at least a week to test new makeup products and longer for skincare and 2) this will allow me to focus on creating the best content for my readers. As for the posting day, I’m thinking Thursday but as always, your input is appreciated, so let me know!

Upcoming Blog Content

With the new move, I’ve been brainstorming some fresh content to share with you all and I can’t wait for you to see it. Some new topics includes more home decor and lifestyle posts talking about my favorite recipes, wine, NOLA restaurants. I’ll also be sharing tips for working from home, blogging, and working with brands.

Did I miss anything? If so, DM me at @theluxeminimalistblog with your suggestions.
