Valentine’s Day looks very different from last year. With our efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19, we’re keeping our usual events at-home. Even though we’re spending more time than ever in our homes, that doesn’t mean Valentine’s Day can’t feel just as special as your romantic date-nights on the town. Below are a few ways to switch things up and make your v-day memorable.
Start your Valentine’s Day off right with brunch and a mimosa. Make it extra special with heart-shaped breakfast foods. Use this occasion to slow down and spend quality time with your loved one. Although you may not be able to travel now, you can still be transported to your favorite place through memories. Look at old photos and videos you may have taken on your favorite vacation together. Spend time planning your next trip, whether it’s an upcoming socially distanced one or one further in the future.
At-Home Spa Day
I live for an at-home spa day pampering myself with all of the beauty products I buy. Let your partner join in on the fun for V-day. Set out your robes, face masks, and champagne, and just relax. Peaceful moments together can really bring you closer. You can light your favorite candle, put on some calming music, and just zen out.

Whether you want to support your favorite local restaurant and order take-out or recreate your favorite meal at home, a candle-lit dinner is always a great option for date-night. Light a woodsy, masculine scent to create a cozy vibe, and pour yourself a drink. If you decide to make your meal, consider cooking with your partner; it makes the process much more fun.
After dinner, recreate this Valentine’s Charcuterie Board from A Sprinkle of Joy, featuring all of your favorite snacks, put on your fancy Pajamas & queue up your favorite movies. If you have HBOMAX, they’ve been doing same-day releases for new movies, so you can even watch something you’ve never seen before. This is what I will be doing and a V-day themed cocktail will also be in the mix. If it’s warm where you live (lucky you!) you can even take the movie night outside to your backyard with the help of a video projector.
How will you be celebrating Valentine’s Day this year?
