Testing Dior’s New Inclusive & More Affordable Foundation

Dior BACKSTAGE Face & Body Foundation Review

Dior Makeup recently launched BACKSTAGE, a more moderately priced makeup line for pros and makeup enthusiasts alike. Peter Phillips, the creative and image director for Dior, described the backstage line as “efficient products that provide a professional result but are simple to apply.”

The star product from Dior BACKSTAGE is the Face & Body Foundation, which is available in an impressive 40 shades. Unlike a lot of other brands that are launching more “inclusive” foundation ranges, Dior has come out with a full spectrum of shades that will work for the fairest of skin to even the most melanin-rich complexions.

Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen Brown SkinWhen it comes to your skincare routine, sunscreen is the most important step. It protects against environmental aggressors such as sun damage (UVB + UVA rays) and pollution, which causes the first signs aging. I must admit that I haven’t been the best about protecting my skin from the environment. I haven’t had the best luck with finding an SPF that was effective but also transparent and matte on my combination skin.

After reading about the Supergoop Unseen Suncreen, I decided to order it online ahead of my trip to sunny Miami. Supergoop Unseen Suncreen is a broad spectrum SPF 40 that claims to be water & sweat resistant and protect against UVA, UVB, infrared, and blue light (light from tech screens).

As a woman of color, I had to try this “invisible” sunscreen out for myself and see if it could become a staple in my routine.

Read on to find out how it performed on my medium-deep skin.

Getting Out of A Rut & Back On Track

Why is it so easy to fall into a rut but so hard to get out?

I haven’t blogged in months and honestly, it’s because I didn’t know what to blog about anymore. There is so much outside noise in the blogging world and it’s hard to ignore it 24/7. I would go through phases of having so many post ideas and then I’d fall into a rut and start to hate every idea that came to mind.

I decided to allow myself to take as much time as I needed to sort my thoughts and figure out what direction I want to take my content. I’ve come up with some ideas of what type of content I want to create and I’m ready to get back into the swing of things.

Today, I thought I’d share my methods for getting out of the inevitable rut.

What I Wore: Cancun, Mexico

What I Wore Cancun Mexico

I went to Mexico for a friend’s wedding and came back last week with the nicest (although uneven) tan. The 80 degree weather was just what I need to re-light the fire inside to start getting creative. You see, I had become very unproductive over the last few months. I blame the winter blues. Now that it’s getting warmer, I feel alive again.

I didn’t do a great job of taking pictures during my trip but I do have some photos of what I wore to show you. If you have a tropical vacation planned soon, read on for a few outfit ideas!

NARS Wanted Eyeshadow Palette

NARS Wanted Eyeshadow Palette

When I first saw the sneak peek of the NARS Wanted Eyeshadow Palette, I quickly bookmarked it because I knew I had to have it. NARS’ eyeshadow formula is one of my favorites – they’re buttery, pigmented and easy for an eye makeup minimalist like me to use. Since ordering this palette, it’s been my go-to for anytime I dress up for a nice dinner, event or even on a casual day hanging out in the city.

The shade selection is what really attracted me to this palette. I think that the combination of neutrals, rose golds, and burgundy is perfect for both day and nighttime looks. Plus, the glitter-textured shades are SO fun but still very chic since they are in neutral and smoky tones.

It’s Lit: Commodity Fragrances Book Candle

Luxury Unisex CandleI am a huge fan of candles. I love the warmth and vibes they bring while filling the room with their fragrances. When I shop for candles, I usually pick them based on the scent and then the packaging. Like many people, I love the Bath & Body Works candles because they are so inexpensive, the scent selection is vast, and the throw (the amount of aroma the candles give off) is amazing.

However, being someone who loves luxury beauty and home products, there are some more expensive candles that I like to treat myself to every once in a while. One of my favorite fragrance brands, Commodity Fragrances, launched a home fragrance line not too long ago and I was really intrigued by their candles. The brand reached out to me to gift some new products and I had to have the candle in their Book scent.

What I Packed for My Winter Vacation | Beauty

Best Travel Skincare Winter

Travel-sized beauty products are some of my favorite things ever invented. How convenient is it to have all of your favorite products in tsa-approved bottles. Plus, mini-sized things are almost always cuter than the full-sized versions.

I took a quick trip to Colorado last month to celebrate my sister’s birthday with family and friends in the Rocky Mountains. The weather was terrible in New York but after 3 canceled flights, I made it to Breckenridge, CO. Since I knew the climate would be colder and dryer up in Colorado, I went prepared with all of my most moisturizing and hydrating skincare.
