This Fall one of my goals is to create healthy habits and that includes being consistent. One thing that I haven’t been so consistent with is reading books. I’ve started several books only to get distracted and abandon them halfway through. Reading does wonders for clearing my mind and improving my mood, so it’s something that I want to get back into. That’s why I’ve created the list below to keep me accountable. Here’s what I’m reading this Fall.
My Fall Reading List
Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler
A young girl moves to New York to create the life she wants to live. It’s no wonder why I chose to read this book.
We’re Going to Need More Wine by Gabrielle Union
Intimate essays from Gabrielle Union’s upbringing.
Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes
The story of what happens when the creator of Scandal & How to Get Away with Murder decides to say yes to every new opportunity presented to her.
Around The Way Girl by Taraji P. Henson
A memoir by our favorite successful black actress.
Love x Style x Life by Garance Doré
A beautiful lifestyle guide from a well-loved blogger. [/one_half]
In addition to rereading the Harry Potter series this Fall/Winter, I want to revisit the books that I’ve abandoned and crack open the ones that have been sitting on the shelf since I bought them. I plan on doing mini reviews of each of these as I finish them and would love to start a little book club if anyone is interested in reading any of the titles above. I’m starting off with Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler since it’s one of the oldest ones on my shelf. I should be back in a week or two to discuss. Then, I’ll continue to go through the books in the order listed above.
If anyone is interested, let me know if you’d prefer a twitter, blog, or video discussion.
