Who can believe that July is already over? I personally can’t but I’m not mad about it. As the months fly by, not only does that mean this disastrous year is almost over but we’re also getting closer to my favorite season: fall! You guys probably already know that I start getting in the fall mood early so I’m currently getting all of my fall posts ready. But in the meantime, let’s focus on the present with some July 2020 beauty favorites.
This is my first beauty favorites post since my 2019 favorites and I honestly thought that I would have more to share. Since we’re still in quarantine, I haven’t been using too many makeup products but I do have a couple that has been in rotation, along with some skincare staples. I have more lifestyle favorites that I’ll be sharing next week, so stay tuned for that. Until then, here are the products I’ve been using and loving this past month.
A new skincare addition that I haven’t shared too much about is the Shani Darden Sake Toning Essence*. I have been using this pore tightening toning essence with a cotton pad at night to remove all traces of SPF, oil, and makeup at night and I love how it makes my skin feel. In the morning, I’ll use it as an essence, pumping a few drops in my hands and patting all over my face. I love the smell (like tea!) and it really just preps my skin for the next steps in my routine.
My skin had been feeling a little dehydrated so I started using the Glossier Super Bounce Serum* and my skin has been drinking this stuff up. It’s a Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin B5 serum that hydrates and plumps the skin, so it fits in perfectly in my nighttime routine. I keep this one in my skincare fridge and use it with my jade roller* (another fave) every night, followed by my moisturizer to lock everything in.
On the makeup front, I’ve been keeping it really minimal with just concealer and brows on most days. The two I’ve been reaching for are the Glossier Stretch Concealer* and the Hourglass Cosmetics Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil*. I love how the Stretch Concealer just blends in seamlessly to touch up any blemishes. I love using my fingers to apply this to get a really natural look. For brows, I recently ordered the Hourglass Cosmetics Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil and have been loving how easy it is to use. Brows are my least favorite part of my makeup routine, so I’m always looking for anything to make them easy and this does the trick.
Lastly, I was introduced to Piper Wai when they sent me a few of their bestselling products and I’ve been really enjoying them. This is the first natural deodorant that I’ve tried that works to keep odor away all day. It even held up through a Nike Training Club workout and if you’ve ever done one of those, that’s saying a lot. It’s also a black-owned brand so I’m so excited to be able to share their products with y’all. They’re currently having a midsummer sale where you can take 20% OFF all orders under $50 with code MIDSUMMER20 and 25% OFF orders over $50 with code MIDSUMMER25. Check them out here.
Those are all of my beauty favorites from July 2020. If you’re interested in some lifestyle favorites, check back for that post next week.
