I received the Real Techniques by Sam & Nic Everyday Essentials Brush Set ($19.99) from Influenster & Real Techniques and this package could not arrive at a better time, as I just decluttered my brush collection of old and unwanted brushes. I parred my collection down to only the ones I use on the daily and the brushes included in this set fit perfectly into my rotation.
Included in this set is the Blush brush (#400), Setting brush (#402), Deluxe Crease brush (#300), Expert Face brush (#200), and the Miracle Complexion Sponge. I’ve used 4 out of 5 of these in the past and loved them all. The only one that was new to me is the Deluxe Crease brush (#300), which I was really excited about. The bristles on the Deluxe Crease brush (#300) are short, dense, and fluffy. According to Real Techniques, this one is great for layering and blending cream and powder eyeshadows. I agree but I can also see this being a brush I use to blend out under eye concealer as well.
The Miracle Complexion Sponge is Real Techniques answer to the very popular Beauty Blender. The RT sponge is soft but firm at the same time and works great to blend foundation and concealer. I love that there’s a slanted, flat side to even apply product and a slightly pointed egg shaped side to get into little corners around the eyes and nose. This sponge is a really good affordable option if don’t want to spend $20 every month for the Beauty Blender.
The Blush brush was one of the first products I ever bought from Real Techniques. I remember going to Ulta and picking it up to use with my ever-growing blush collection. I love the tapered, fluffy bristles. It picks up and distributes powder evenly for a natural look.
One of my favorite Real Techniques brushes ever is the Setting brush. I use this brush to apply my banana ben nye powder to set my concealer everyday. It’s small enough to be precise and fluffy enough to dust away setting powder and dust on highlighter.
Lastly, we have the Expert Face brush. This is the perfect brush to get that flawless, airbrush foundation look. The bristles are firm, so I don’t have to worry about the brush eating up my foundation.
Overall, this is the perfect starter brush set. It’s also good if you consider yourself a minimalist like me and only want the essentials for an everyday look.
