If you are the slightest bit into the online beauty community, then you have heard of Colourpop Cosmetics. The company was started in 2014 and has been killing it ever since. Beauty gurus and makeup junkies alike have raved about the company, so of course I had to see what the hype was all about. With drugstore prices and high end quality, I now know why everyone has fallen for Colourpop.
All of the products are $8 or less and can be purchased at Colourpop.com. The line includes eye shadows, lippie pencil, lippie stix, matte lip cream, highlighters, bronzes, blushes and recently added, cream gel colors and liners. After some research via YouTube and several beauty blogs, I placed an order for four Super Shockshadows, 3 Ultra Matte Lip creams, a blush, and a highlighter.
All of the panned products come in the white packaging with the iridescent Colourpop logo written in the center. The Ultra Matter Lip creams come in clear tubes with mirrored handles and the same iridescent Colourpop logo.
The Super Shock shadows ($5 each) are like a mousse-y texture and they are a very pigmented. I purchased the colors Lala, Gameface, Nillionaire, and On The Rocks. They remind me of the Chanel illusion d’ombre shadows but not as creamy. The best way to apply the shadows is by dabbing a finger in the product and pressing it on the eyes. You don’t even need a primer, unless your eyelids are naturally oily. The colors and texture are amazing. It’s going to be hard for me to buy high end shadows after trying these.

The highlighters ($8 each) are all so beautiful, so it was hard to decide on which one to try first. I went with the color “Avalon” which is described as “a true golden bronze with golden pink duo chrome finish” on the Colourpop website. This highlighter is on the warmer side, so it will look amazing in the Summer.
I also ordered one of their blushes ($8 each) in the color “Swift”. In the pan “Swift” looks like an intense brown color but it is much softer when applied. It’s a warm brown that gives a hint of warmth on my skin tone.

The Ultra Matte Lip products are one of the main attractions in the Colourpop range. They’re only $6 each, pigmented and come in a wide range of colors. I chose the colors Trap, Kapow, and Limbo. Trap is a cool toned pink-y nude, Kapow a dark gray and Limbo a red-brown – very similar to LimeCrime’s “Salem”. I’m obsessed with the formula and shades of the Ultra Matte Lips, though I’m not sure I can pull off Kapow.
