Happy New Year! I can’t believe we’re already in 2020 but I am excited. I took my time easing back into my routine, reflecting on the past year, and setting goals for the new one. Now, I’m back to blogging and today I’m going to take one last look at my favorite and best beauty products from 2019.
These are my loves, the products I picked up again and again last year. These all hold a special place on my vanity and I will continue to repurchase them because they’re that good. Note: Not all of these products were released in 2019, these are just the products I used and loved most. So let’s just get into them…
BEST FOUNDATION: Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation
This foundation reach holy grail status last year as I reached for it again and again. It was my go-to foundation for my everyday makeup routine for work, traveling, or did anything fun on the weekends. I love the soft matte finish and the fact that it lasts all day on my combo oily skin. It’s also a great shade match for my skin tone. I do want to try some other foundations in this new year and I think I start by checking out what other offerings Dior has.
BEST CONCEALER: Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Concealer
I had mixed feelings about this concealer when I first started using it because it was thicker than what I’m used to, however, with continued use I grew to love it. The Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Concealer has a medium-to-full coverage, so it’s perfect for events when I need my makeup to look flawless and last all day/night long. Since it has more coverage, I wouldn’t use this for everyday but I loved having the option for when I wanted to take my makeup look up a notch.
BEST BRONZER: Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk’r Bronzer in I$land Ting
I purchased the Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk’r Bronzer on whim. I was randomly browsing the aisles of Sephora when I realized the brand had recently released new products. I’m not usually one to wear bronzer but thought I should give one a try since my skin desperately needed a little more color due to the NY winter. I’m so happy that I picked this up because now I can’t do my makeup routine without it!
BEST HIGHLIGHTER: Fenty Beauty Fairy Bomb Highlighter in Rosé On Ice (powder) & MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Soft Light in 40 (liquid)
My collection of highlighters just continues to grow but these are the two that I reached for consistently. The Fenty Beauty Fairy Bomb Highlighter is a fine shimmering powder that I love to lightly dust on the high points of my cheeks. I love the warm pink tone of Rosé On Ice and it can be warn year round. When I want a liquid highlighter that blends in seamlessly, I always grab my MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Soft Light. I’m a fan of shades 20, 30, and 40 but 40 is my favorite for wearing underneath my foundation to give me a healthy glow.
BEST EYESHADOW PALETTE: NARS Wanted Eyeshadow Palette
Although NARS has released several palettes within the last year, the Wanted Eyeshadow Palette that was released in 2017 continues to hold the top spot in my routine. The warm pinks, browns, and berries are just the perfect shades to create an effortless eye look for day and night. I also love how compact this palette is, making it my top choice for travel. I’ve promised myself to try out some new eyeshadow palettes this year to switch up my look and give this one a break but I can’t promise that I’ll fully give this one up.

BEST SINGLE EYESHADOW: Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise in Bette Eyes
This is another product that I purchased on a whim and has quickly become my favorite single eyeshadow. If you couldn’t tell, I love products that require minimal effort (hello, luxe minimalist) and the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise in Bette Eyes is just that. The creamy shadow blends so easily and stays put all day. It also makes me look like a pro in the eye makeup department. Check and check.
BEST LIPSTICK: Hourglass Confession Ultra Slim High Intensity Lipstick in I’ll Never Stop
When it comes to lip colors, I am a peachy/brown nude girl all the way. The Hourglass Confession Ultra Slim High Intensity Lipstick in I’ll Never Stop is the perfect color for day and night and I am obsessed with its sleek packaging. The formula is so creamy but doesn’t slip and slide all over your face and the actual product lasts a long time.
BEST LIP GLOSS: Glossier Lip Gloss in Holographic*
When Glossier released their lip gloss in Holographic last year, my middle school nostalgia had me all over it. The brand kindly gifted me all three of the shades but I was most excited about the shimmering clear shade. I love using this gloss alone and as a topper. BEST LIP MASK: Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
You’ve most likely seen several other bloggers rave about the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask but I’m here to tell you how good it is for the millionth time. It’s SO good. This mask feels good and smells even better on the lips. I use it in the day when my lips feel especially dry and keep it on my nightstand to use before bed. The result is smooth, hydrated lips by morning.
