As a self-proclaimed foodie, I try to take full advantage of the endless options of restaurants to eat at in New York City. I know millions of people visit New York each year, so I thought it would be helpful to share the best places to eat in New York. This is part 2 of my New York restaurant recommendations (read part 1 here), and I’m sure there will be many more to come since I will never run out of restaurants to try. Let me know what you think if you try any of these restaurants.
Shake Shack – Multiple Locations
Though this is a fast-food restaurant, the quality is top-notch, which is why there’s almost always a line out of the door. Shake Shack is many known for their burgers but they also serve fries, chicken sandwiches, shakes, wine, and beer. My favorites are the Smoke Shack (no cherry pepper) which is a bacon cheeseburger with Shake sauce, and the chicken sandwich with bacon. There are several locations across New York but they are all usually pretty busy during peak hours. But the good thing is that the line moves pretty quickly.
Cafeteria – Chelsea
I love Cafeteria for their cool atmosphere and location. It’s located in Chelsea, which is where you’ll spot all of the cool and fashionable people of New York. Cafeteria serves classic American foods like burgers, salads, and mac and cheese. I love the burgers, mac & cheese trio, and the cocktails here. I suggest going to Cafeteria in the warmer months and snagging an outside table for some good food and grade A people watching. Another bonus: it’s open 24/7!
Roberta’s Pizza – Williamsburg
Every New Yorker will have an opinion on who serves the best pizza, but in my opinion Roberta’s is better than all of them. I’ve actually never eaten at the original location in Williamsburg. I always get Roberta’s at they’re pop-up in UrbanSpace by Grand Central Terminal since it’s so easy to get to, and the service there is really quick! I always get the Bee Sting pizza, sometimes without the honey. But it’s good both ways!
Burger & Lobster – Flatiron District
Burger & Lobster is a restaurant located in the Flatiron district in New York that literally only has three choices: a burger, lobster, or lobster roll. Well, four if you count the combo of a burger and lobster. I’ve been here a few times and I got the lobster every time because it’s so good. The lobster comes with fries, garlic butter, and a side salad. You can choose to have your lobster grilled or steamed – I always get mine grilled. Each entree is $20 but the combo is a little more.
