I took a quick trip to Colorado last month to celebrate my sister’s birthday with family and friends in the Rocky Mountains. The weather was terrible in New York but after 3 canceled flights, I made it to Breckenridge, CO. Since I knew the climate would be colder and dryer up in Colorado, I went prepared with all of my most moisturizing and hydrating skincare. Travel-sized beauty products are some of my favorite things ever invented. How convenient is it to have all of your favorite products in tsa-approved bottles. Plus, mini-sized things are almost always cuter than the full-sized versions. Here are the best winter skincare for travel.
Best Winter Skincare for Travel
Face
I happened to have deluxe samples by Peter Thomas Roth from a recent 500-point perk set. From the set, I decided to bring the Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream and Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel, which was perfect as I didn’t own a travel-sized cleanser. The cleanser did its job of removing dirt and oil but wasn’t anything spectacular. However, I loved the Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream. I felt an instant burst of hydration when I applied it, which was so refreshing in the dry altitude. There’s also an entire Cloud Cream line if you’re interested in skincare for dry skin or live in a cold climate.
In addition to the Cloud Cream, I also brought my Glossier Priming Moisturizer and Dior Hydra Life Beauty Awakening Rehydrating Mask Capsules. I love the Glossier Priming Moisturizer for winter because it’s so thick and moisturizing but it doesn’t clog my pores. I ended up layering this on top of the Cloud Cream whenever we went out for the day to add that extra moisture and protection. I applied the Dior Hydra Life Mask while indoors to give my skin an extra boost of moisture and to nourish any dry spots. (Unfortunately, the capsules have been discontinued but there is a similar mask here.) Read more Glossier reviews here.
To keep my skin radiant in the dry air, I used the Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist. This stuff is beloved by so many and for good reason. It gives your skin the most radiant look and I just love it.
Eyes
To make sure my eye area was moisturized, I took the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye Cream for night and a sample of a La Mer Eye Balm for during the day. These both worked well to keep my eyes moisturized and help me look alive after late nights.
Lips
The number one concern I have when in cooler weather is chapped lips. To combat any dryness, I used my French Girl Rose Lip Polish (in addition to my Glossier Balm Dot Com), which I am obsessed with! This lip polish is organic which is a major plus for anything I’m putting on my lips. It uses a blend of cane sugar, oils and butters to slough off dead skin while simultaneously moisturizing the lips. It’s so good.
Body
The last things I brought were body products. For perfume, I packed my Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey Cologne. If you’ve never smelled this before, please do so asap. It smells so good! It’s light and airy and slightly sweet but not sugary/artificially sweet.
Lastly, I packed 2 travel-sized bottles of Soap & Glory Clean On Me body wash, which is a staple in my shower. It’s really inexpensive but has a luxury smell that many people compare to Dior’s Miss Cherie Dior.
These products were exactly what my skin needed during my mini winter vacay and I’m so proud of myself for how well I packed. I’d definitely recommend everything (except for the cleanser) for your next winter vacation. Where are you going next? For me, it’s Mexico!
