It’s warm outside, so it’s time to swap out my makeup for brighter tones, and I couldn’t be more excited. These days, slapping on a bright coral blush is one of the small ways I cheer myself up. The world is upside down right now but that doesn’t mean we have to give up the opportunity to get dolled up, even if it’s just to walk around the house or show off to your Instagram friends. Below are my spring makeup favorites.
I’m not going to lie, I’ve been working from home since September of last year and I had started to fall into a rut. Being home for the majority of the week, every week had started to take a toll on me. So I tried doing my morning routine as if I had to go into the office, which included putting on makeup and getting fully dressed. That made a world of difference. That made me realize how powerful makeup and skincare can be.
With that in mind, I’ve been mindful not to neglect these small acts of self-care and I want to remind you all who are now working from home to do the same.
Spring Makeup Favorites
I tend to keep things in the warm pink and coral family when it comes to my spring makeup looks. I find these tones look best on my skin tone and they help me look alive. For the eyes, I put together this custom Colourpop Eyeshadow Palette which has 24 of their single shadows in various shades. I chose peachy pinks, nudes, bronze and copper, and dark brown shades, as well as a few pops like that bright blue and glittery purple shade. I can create a variety of looks with this palette or just wear a different shade each day.
You’ll notice that I have quite a few highlighters in this edit and that’s because I love glow skin. Give me some skincare and a highlighter and I’m all set. A few of my favorites from spring include the Artist Couture x Jackie Aina Diamond Glow Powder in La Bronze, Fenty Beauty Fairy Bomb Shimmer Powder in Rose On Ice, and NARS Dual-Intensity Blush in Frenzy.
Frenzy has two sides, one with a soft golden highlighter and the other with a burnt orange blush. These can be used wet or dry but so far, I’ve only used them dry and I love them both. Another blush that I alway bring out in the warmer months is the Chanel Blush in Malice. It’s a coral pink with tiny specks of gold and I love how it warms up my cheeks. There’s a new blush duo in my collection that I’m sure will get lots of love this spring and it’s the Anastasia Beverly Hills Blush Trio in Peachy Love. This little trio is the perfect product for travel, whenever outside opens back up. I love this shade family and will for sure be putting it to use to brighten my days.
As for lips, it’s either lipgloss or lip balm all the way. I won’t be wearing any lipstick at home but if we happen to be allowed outside before spring/summer is over, I’ll most definitely be reaching for my Hourglass Cosmetics Confession Ultra Slim High-Intensity Lipstick in I’ll Never Stop. Otherwise, I’ll stick to my Colourpop glosses in Free Spirit and Neat Freak and my Glossier gloss in Holographic.
Make sure you’re following me on Instagram to see these products in action.
