Weekly Recap No. 1: Celebrity Estheticians, At-Home Skin Devices, & Silk Sleeping Masks

I’ve been thinking about starting a series like this for a while, where I round up the latest and greatest blog posts (my own & others), beauty buys & the best deals & steals from each week. So here it is. I’m also sharing my newest blogger & influencer faves, as well as a few posts & articles I’ve found that I think you’d be interested in too. This week, I’ve discovered a celebrity esthetician that has quickly become a personal inspiration, a skincare device that is said to give its users an instant facelift, and a sleep eyemask for the ultimate luxury slumber. Belated Discovery

@shanidarden

Esthetician to the stars, I came across Shani Darden this week while researching what it means to be an esthetician. I was so inspired by this black woman who has made her mark in the skincare industry, caring for the faces of some of the world’s favorite actresses and singers. I ended up falling down a rabbit hole and ended up on her blog, YouTube and Instagram where she gives the best skincare tips and an inside look at her job as a celebrity facialist. I had plans on picking up her newly added skincare line from the Sephora sale but everything I wanted has sold out. I can’t want to get my hands on her retinol serum.

Blog Posts & Articles I Loved

  • Responsible Reviewing & Consumerism – Michelle from The Beauty Endeavor touched on a few topics about sharing honest product reviews & getting back to the old days of blogging that I will be discussing soon.

CB2

I’ve been into making my own cocktails at home so I ordered the Joplin Coupe Cocktail Glass & Float Coupe Cocktail Glass from CB2 to make them look chic. I also picked up this clear coffee mug for my morning lattes.

SkinStore

I had heard about the NuFace devices a while ago but never really looked into the brand until recently. I came across a recent post about them and decided to read more reviews and look into what people were saying on YouTube and Instagram. It’s an at-home micro current device that uses electrical currents to exercise your face and neck muscles, which leaves them looking tightened and toned. After my extensive research, I decided that I wanted to give it a try as a preventative measure in my anti-aging routine and also to address my neck lines. I mean, who doesn’t want a device that gives an instant facelift? Their devices are pretty pricey but luckily I found them on sale at SkinStore for 25% off. I ordered the NuFACE Mini Facial Toning Device and NuFACE Hydrating Leave-On Gel Primer. SkinStore was also offering a free gift with purchase and I chose the Erno Laszlo Multi Task Eye Serum Mask. I can’t wait for these to come in so I can start playing around with my new skincare device. I’ll of course be sharing a review with you guys telling you if I think it’s worth the cost.

Neiman Marcus

If you couldn’t tell from my previous posts, this week was the week of beauty sales. Neiman Marcus was also offering 25% off select beauty products so I picked up the Dior Lip Glow Oil in Rosewood, which I had been longing for, and the hyped Slip Sleepmask in Black. I’m usually not a sleepmask type of girl but the ones from Slip just look so luxurious and who am I to deny myself of comfort? Unfortunately, the sale is over but you can still pick up these items on sale from Sephora.
