One night out of the week, I like to have a relaxing evening, pampering myself with all of the butters, scrubs and masks stashed in my cabinets.
To begin, I light a candle or oil burner and feel the bathroom with my favorite scent. Then I’ll either run a bubble bath or a shower. I start out by using a body exfoliator. The one I’m currently using is the Victoria Secret’s PINK 2 in 1 wash & scrub in sun kissed. The scent is of coconut water and vanilla; two of my favorites. After exfoliating, I wash with my regular soap, which is always one in the Dove range. Then, I wash with my favorite body wash, which is Soap & Glory’s Clean On Me shower gel. This shower gel is so creamy and moisturizing. It has built in lotion and smells AMAZING. Which is probably why I’m running out of it so quickly. After I get out of the shower, I apply the Soap & Glory’s The Righteous Butter body butter. The scent of The Righteous Butter matched the Clean On Me shower gel. They are a match made in body care heaven. The combination of the two leaves my skin feeling clean and smooth and smelling great!
Once I finish with body care, I move on to skin care. I begin with cleansing my face with whichever cleanser I’m using at the moment. Currently, I’m using Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser. After I’ve cleansed my face, I exfoliate with the dermalogica daily microfoliant. I like this exfoliator because the grains are so small that they aren’t harsh on the skin. Next, I apply a facial mask. I like to switch up my face masks. This time I used Queen Helene’s Mint Julep Masque. After the mask dries, I rinse it off and moisturize with The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Moisture Cream. Sometimes I use the Biore Strips if necessary. This step isn’t done weekly.
Lastly are my nails. I like to use O.P.I’s Matte Nail Envy Nail Strengthener on my nails and any base coat on my toes. I use the Seche Vite topcoat on my nails and any top coat on my toes. I’ve been using the Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan oil as a cuticle oil to moisturize my cuticles.
As you can see, these are a lot of steps. Which is why they are done weekly. Time is a luxury and this is how I spend it when I can.
