Indulge | District: Donuts.Sliders.Brew
District: Donuts.Sliders.Brew is a fairly new donut shop/coffee shop/restaurant that opened up on Magazine st. located Uptown of New Orleans. I had been hearing so many great things about District, so it earned a spot on my “must try” list of restaurants. I followed them on Instagram (@districtdonuts) and after seeing all of the delicious looking donuts and sliders they were uploading, my need to try them out only grew stronger. District is a straight forward restaurant, embedding their offerings right in the name. They post the donut selection daily so that you know what’s available each day.
I had been wanting to try District for some time now but never made time to stop by. One of my friends casually suggested it when we were both off from work and of course, I jumped at the chance! Since it wasn’t planned, I didn’t check to see which donuts were being served that day. I was so thrilled when I walked in and they had the flavor that I had been dreaming of trying..Wedding Cake!
When you walk in, you’re greeted with this lovely case of colorful, delicious looking donuts. They all were tagged with their flavors. I want to try their traditional glazed donut next time.
As I mentioned before, I had been wanting to try the Wedding Cake ever since seeing it on their instagram profile. The Wedding Cake flavor was so good. It tasted just like a wedding cake. I don’t like extra sweet food, but this was just sweet enough. The icing and pearl sprinkles had me convinced that I was eating a slice of cake.
My friends got Wedding Cake, Cookies and Cream and Cinnamon Sugar. Being the cinnamon obsessed person that I am, I was surprised that I didn’t try that one. I definitely will be getting that flavor next time.
Everyone was satisfied after leaving District. Not only do the donuts look amazing, they taste amazing too. I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t try their coffee, since that’s one of their specialties. I didn’t want to have too much caffeine since I had had a cup earlier from Refuel (post coming soon). I have to have a cup next time. I’m sure I’ll be visiting District: Donuts. Sliders. Brews. again really soon.
