#TLMxNYC: The Countdown Begins
A pic from my last trip to New York of the Flatiron building.
I wanted to post a little update on where I currently am in life. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m making my big move from NOLA to NYC next month and I am so excited. I’m moving in less than 3 weeks (I’ve been using the countdown app “Dreamdays”. Sorry, Momma!) so I’ve been trying to get my life together (aren’t I always?) and prepare for my move. I’ve been slowly packing up my things, getting rid of things and starting the process of transferring in my job.
Before I do literally anything, I do my research. For this move, my “research” includes finding out what’s in my neighborhood, finding apartment inspiration and, of course, creating a shopping list. I will be posting my inspiration pictures and shopping lists here to reference when I make my move and also to provide anyone that is looking to make a change in the home decor area with some inspiration. I’m excited for you all to follow along with my journey to NYC. I’m creating a series of my move and, later, my life in NYC that you can follow using the hashtag #TLMxNYC on all social media.
Also as a part of my research, I looked up events that are happening after I move and one of the events I’ve found is the Power 105.1 Presents: Powerhouse NYC. I told my friend Kateri about it and we’ve already gotten our tickets! It’s happening at the end of October at the Barclays Center. #PowerhouseNYC is a hip hop concert put on by the Power 105.1 radio station and this year the lineup is:Â Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar, Future, Jeremih, Omarion, Jidenna, Fetty Wap, and Meek Mill. I’ve only seen Kendrick Lamar live, so I am so excited to see everyone else – especially Big Sean and Future. I’m also interested to see if they bring out any special guests.. Kanye, are you coming?
Another reason I’m really excited about my move is because Autumn is basically upon us and anyone that knows me, knows that this is my favorite time of year. I just get so excited for the fashion, the beauty – and the seasonal Starbucks drinks. Autumn is all about a fresh start for me and the fact that I am starting a new chapter in my life, in a new city that actually gets a real leaves-changing-colors autumn season, I could not be more excited. I will be documenting this move via social media, my blog and also youtube channel. Be sure to follow me to stay current on all things #TLMxNYC. Also, if you have any tips or recommendations on where to eat or hang in NYC or any NYC living tips in general, they are always greatly appreciated. Leave them in the comments or shoot me an email at coreyiel@theluxeminimalist.com. Thanks for reading. See you in the next one!
