I’m really picky when shopping because I like pieces that I can wear forever, or at least, like, a really long time. I was in a shopping rut recently but now I’m finally in the mood to find new pieces to add to my wardrobe. Staying true to my minimalistic style, I’ve been looking for key items that 1. I can wear multiple ways and 2. can be dressed up with fun accessories. Sweater dresses have become essential for me as they are comfy, cute and can be worn so many different ways. Read on to see how to wear a sweater dress, 3 ways.
Work
As you might know, I work in PR so my days can look very different throughout the week. I love wearing sweater dresses with leggings and boots. This outfit is so comfy but still looks put together. I like to accessorize with my agenda and black ankle boots.
Side note: If anyone was wondering how my Acne Jensen Boot dupes were holding up, they still look nice and are one of my favorite purchases.
Date Night
This sweater dress is the perfect date night option. The bell sleeves and shorter length make it more dressy and I love the color. I paired it with black tights and black sock boots to make my legs look longer. Sock boots are a trend that I’m currently loving and can see myself wearing all winter and spring. I added hoop earrings and pulled my hair back to look more grown up. I also added this Comme Des Garcons embossed pouch, which is perfect for this look since you only need the essentials for a night out.
Casual
Lastly, I had to share how to incorporate a sweater dress in a casual outfit because this is my go-to weekend look. I wear this to run my Sunday errands like grocery shopping and running around Brooklyn. Since this sweater dress isn’t too long, I paired it with distressed ankle length skinny jeans and my trusty black Old Skool Vans. I love the tie detail on this dress because it adds a bit more shape.
Now that I’ve added these staples to my rotation, it’s time to find some cool new accessories to take them to the next level.
Out of all of the ways I styled the sweater dress, I think the work outfit was my fave. Be sure to check out Tobi.com for inexpensive, trendy styles like these. How would you style this?
