Vitruvi Diffuser Review
I was so late on the essential oils train but I’m finally aboard and I’m glad I got with the program. Essential oils can be used for many things but I love them for aromatherapy and for making my apartment smell amazing. I discovered Vitruvi a while ago and started fantasizing about one sitting on my dresser, filling my room with beautiful scents. I was hesitant to buy it because of the hefty price tag but I went for it and haven’t looked back since. Read on for my review of the Vitruvi Stone Diffuser to find out if it’s worth the price.
Vitruvi Stone Diffuser Design
The Vitruvi Stone Diffuser comes in various neutral shades – I currently own one in white, black, terracotta, and Eucalyptus. I’d described the Vitruvi stone diffuser as a luxury home product as there are other options that are way cheaper, however, the sleek design of this diffuser combines style and function. It’s a smaller machine, so I’d recommend this version for smaller spaces like a bedroom or bathroom. If you have a larger space, you can either use multiple of the stone diffuser or go with the Stay Diffuser meant for larger spaces to get a good scent throw. Update: Vitruvi has released 2 metal designs called Move and Stay. Stay tuned for my post comparing all three.
Vitruvi Stone Diffuser Specs
There are two settings, one that allows the diffuser to run consistently for three-hour and the other that periodically turns on and off over the course of 7.5 hours. (Update 3/10/21: The stone diffuser was recently updated and now features longer run times – one runs consistently for 4 hours and the other option runs intermittently for 8 hours.) The outer material is a porcelain cover and the inner water reservoir is made of BPA-free plastic. I love that the machine automatically turns off when the time is up or the water runs out. There’s also a line on the outside of the water reservoir that indicates the maximum amount of water you can fill it with. I haven’t had any trouble with my diffuser but it did come with a 1-year warranty in the case of any technical issues and you can also order replacement parts if you happen to break or lose anything.
You can also clean your stone cover with warm soapy water and a dish brush.

Cost of the Vitruvi Stone Diffuser
The Vitruvi Diffuser will run you $119 (update 8/27/22: the price is now $123) and the single oils start at $13 and can get as expensive as $30 for their specialty oil blends. Now, I know that this is a lot of money to spend on a diffuser but you’re paying for the design aesthetic and the quality of the products. If you’re not concerned with how it looks and you only care about function, you can find one cheaper but I love how this one looks and how it’s held up, I think it’s worth the price.
What I Don’t Like about the Vitruvi Stone Diffuser
Each diffuser also comes with a cup to fill the water reservoir. (Update 3/10/21: The updated diffusers no longer include the plastic cup.) The only issue I’ve experienced is a little discoloration on the stone cover. It’s not too noticeable but if it becomes a problem, I can purchase a replacement cover. Overall, the sleek design and smart functions of the Vitruvi diffuser make it worth the money.
Update 9/21/20: After a year of using the Vitruvi diffuser, I noticed the color of the cover was showing wear. This will happen when getting the oils on the porcelain stone cover, so this is something to keep in mind. I was able to buy a replacement cover for $20 on their website and now it looks brand new.
Final Thoughts on the Vitruvi Stone Diffuser
It’s been over 2 years since I initially wrote this post and my love of the Stone Diffuser from Vitruvi has not changed. It remains one of my favorite ways to scent and decorate my home. It’s also one of my favorite gifts to give because it’s something everyone can use and love. There are so many new colors since the initial review and the company continues to release new products that are just as luxurious. I highly recommend Vitruvi for your next gift to yourself or someone you love.

Favorite Essential Oils to use in the Diffuser
I love the Grapefruit, Lavender, Cedarwood, and Eucalyptus essential oils from Vitruvi. I mix and match them to create scents based on my mood. My favorite of the 4 oils is the Cedarwood scent as it smells like a subtle but masculine cologne. You can also find essential oils at your local Home Goods or TJ Maxx that costs less.
