February beauty, tv, outfit, and book recommendations.
Last month flew by but not without making its mark. Between Mardi Gras and my coming down with the flu, the month was a whirlwind to say the least. Here’s what I got up to last month…
Read // January and February were great months for my reading goal. I resolved to read more books this year and I’ve been sticking to it. How? Well, I’ve allowed myself to read only the genre I enjoy (YA Fiction), instead of what I think I should be reading. This strategy has worked out well. So far, I’ve been on a Jenny Han kick and have read P.S. I Still Love You, Always and Forever, Lara Jean, It’s Not Summer Without You, and We’ll Always Have Summer. Another thing that has helped me read more is using my iPad Pro as an e-reader. I love being able to download books instantly, bookmarking where I left off, highlighting different passages, and looking up words in an instant. I’m currently looking for my next read, so let me know your recommendations in the comments.
Tested // I tried a few different products last month and most of them I loved. I finally ordered the Biossance Vitamin C Rose Oil & Vegan Lip Balm and I loved them both (reviewed here). I also recently ordered the Summer Fridays Super Amino Gel Cleanser and it has been just what I needed to get my skin back on track. Lastly, I bit the bullet and picked up the Chanel Le Volume De Chanel Mascara after hearing so many rave reviews. I’ve been testing it out and will be sharing whether I think it’s worth it soon. Look out for reviews this week!
Wore // I did a little shopping for Mardi Gras and a quick trip to Miami but I didn’t pick up much last month. Most of what I ordered didn’t end up working but there were a few pieces I ended up loving like these Snakeskin booties (sold out but linking similar ones below) and these bright orange Nike Air Vapormax Plus perfect for spring/summer.
Watched // This has been the month of re-runs for me as I’ve been tearing through all 6 seasons of Sex and the City. I don’t know if I was missing New York or my friendships but it was comforting watch Carrie and the girls deal with life and love in the big city. It wasn’t all re-runs though, as P.S. I Still Love You and the new season of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina were released on Netflix. The former didn’t hold my attention as it’s hard to cram a whole book into a 1 hour movie but the latter was so good. If you haven’t watched Chilling Adventures of Sabrina yet, you need to make this your priority this month. As for weekly TV shows, I’ve been obsessed with grown•ish, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Very Cavallari, and The Bachelor. The Bachelor has been all over the place and I can’t tell who is going to be “the one” but I’ve been enjoying watching that train wreck.
I’m hoping March will bring new and exciting adventures. Let me know what you’re looking forward to most in the next month.
