The Best Smelling Vanilla-Based Summer Fragrances
If you love warm, vanilla-based fragrances that aren’t overpowering or basic, this is the post for you.
It’s been a while since I’ve shared a fragrance review and if I’m being honest, that’s because I hate buying fragrances for myself. For some reason, I associate fragrances with gifts so I’ll buy one for myself every once in a while but mostly I just wait until someone buys them for me lol. Luckily, I was recently gifted a couple of perfumes and ended up discovering some new favorites.
You’ll notice that most of the fragrances on this list share similar notes because warm, woody scents that have vanilla, cedar wood, and sandalwood notes are my go-tos and not just in the summer. I love perfumes that boost my mood and brighten my days. If you’re also into warm and bright vanilla-based scents that are elevated, check out my favorites below.
The best warm-floral scents for Summer
Armani Beauty My Way
NOTES: Bergamot, Orange Blossom, Tuberose, Jasmine vanilla, White musks, Cedarwood
Armani Beauty My Way is a recent discovery but it’s quickly earned the number one spot on my list of favorite fragrances. The mix of florals and vanilla is a perfect balance that creates a fun and flirty scent. Anyone who I’ve recommended this to immediately falls in love with it.
Byredo Gypsy Water
NOTES: Bergamot, Lemon pepper, Juniper berries, Incense, Pine needles, Orris, Amber, Vanilla, Sandalwood
This warm, woodsy scent is a go-to all year-round. It’s a bit on the lighter side in terms of intensity, so if you prefer something soft, this would be a great option for you. Otherwise, you may want something bolder.
Valentino Donna Born In Roma
NOTES: Blackcurrant accord, Bergamot, Jasmine grandiflorum absolute, Jasmine sambac absolute, Jasmine tea, Bourbon Vanilla, Cashmeran, Guaiac wood
This addicting combination of Bourbon Vanilla, Bergamot, and 3 types of Jasmine makes this the best date night scent. The studded glass bottle also looks amazing on any vanity counter.
Commodity Gold
NOTES: Juniper Berries, Creamy Musk, Vanilla, Amber, Sandalwood, Benzoin
When I saw the Commodity brand resurface after shuttering a couple of years ago, I was so happy. Gold is the most appropriate name for this perfume as it smells like what I imagine liquid gold would smell like. It’s a warm scent that works great as an everyday fragrance. It’s been one of my favorites since I bought it in 2016. Read the full review here.
Perfect Marc Jacobs
NOTES: rhubarb, daffodil, almond milk, cedarwood, cashmeran
Another aptly named fragrance, this is my go-to everyday fragrance when I’m working from home. It’s a bright and warm scent that instantly puts me in a good mood. Read my full review here.
Viva La Juicy La Fleur
NOTES: Honeysuckle: Peach Nectar, Wild Berries, Sparkling Mandarin. Exotic Florals: Waterlily, Gardenia, Soft Jasmine. Creamy Woods: Warm Caramel, Creamy Vanilla.
La Fleur adds a floral twist to an OG scent that just works so well. It’s flirty and fun and it lasts really long. It can lean a little younger but this will be a favorite of mine for a while.
