If you keep up with me on Snapchat or Instagram stories, then you may have noticed that I’m a little face mask obsessed! I love doing a mask to boost my skin care routine, as a treat after a long week, or whenever I feel like pampering myself at home. I’ve tried so many face masks and I thought it would helpful to share the best face masks by concern. I know everyone has different skin concerns that they are trying to target and I’m going to share my favorite masks for a few different concerns.
Pore Cleansing & Detoxifying
Clay masks are the best when it comes to detoxifying your pores and really getting a deep clean. It’s the first mask I ever tried and it still is my go-to type of face mask. My favorite clay masks are the Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque and the Glossier Mega Greens Galaxy Pack. The Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque is for normal to oily skin and it uses amazonian white clay to suck up dirt and oil that may me clogging pores. It also helps to get rid of dead skin cells to fight dull looking skin. The Glossier Mega Greens Galaxy Pack works wonders for me when I notice that my skin is breaking out. The Glossier mask also uses clay to cleanse the skin and it helps calm down any breakouts. Another ingredient I look for in a pore minimizing face mask is charcoal. Charcoal is known for its detoxifying qualities whether you’re using it on your skin, teeth, or even in your diet. Read more Glossier reviews here.
Another ingredient I look for in a pore minimizing face mask is charcoal. Charcoal is known for its detoxifying qualities whether you’re using it on your skin, teeth, or even in your diet. My favorite charcoal face masks are the L’Oreal Detox & Brighten Pure-Clay Mask and the Caolion Blackhead O2 Bubble Pore Pack. I love charcoal masks because you can see the dirt and oil that they suck out once the mask dries on your face. There’s something so satisfying about that. The Caolion mask is really fun because it foams up after a few minutes and you can feel the tiny bubbles cleaning and exfoliating your skin.
Radiance
If you’ve watched my skin care routine video, you know that I’m all about radiant skin. I hate when my skin looks dull and tired. I’m really into natural, glowy skin and these face masks help me get that look. My absolute favorite mask for radiant skin the Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque. This mask uses turmeric to naturally even out the skin tone and crushed cranberry seeds to gently exfoliate and brighten the skin. Kiehl’s describes this mask as an instant facial and I agree. It’s the perfect boost to brighten your skin in the morning.
Another invigorating face mask is the Lush Cup O’ Coffee which is a face and body mask, made with coffee, kaolin and agave syrup to exfoliate the skin, leaving it radiant and smooth. Coffee scrubs are really popular and after trying this one, I now understand why. I love that this mask smells strongly of coffee and the coffee grounds are coarse enough to exfoliate my skin and leave it so smooth. The last mask is the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Overnight mask which you apply like a moisturizer, leaving it on overnight to reveal radiant skin come morning.
Soothing + Moisturizing
Lastly, I have 4 masks I go to when I need some intense moisture and hydration. For moisture, I usually turn to the masks that are creamy in texture like the Glossier moisturizing moon mask and the Kiehl’s Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending masque. Full of naturally moisturizing ingredients like sweet almond oil, squalane, and hyaluronic acid, the Glossier moisturizing moon mask is perfect for transitioning from winter to spring. It also brightens the complexion with the help of licorice root and lemon fruit extract, while honey and aloe help to soothe the skin. The Glossier mask is one that your rinse off after 20 minutes, while the Kiehl’s one you leave overnight. Kiehl’s Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending masque defends and replenishes skin to reduce the visible signs of pollution, such as dull, tired looking skin.
For hydrated, toned skin, I use the Fresh Rose face mask. It’s infused with red rose petals, rosewater and algae, which are all great for moisturizing the skin. It also uses cucumber extract and aloe vera to calm down any redness. For extreme dyhydration situations I love the Caolion Pore Tightening Memory Sleeping Mask. This mask is so cool because it uses memory foam like technology to mold to your face and firm your skin, while hydrating and also tightening your pores.
