As I mentioned in previous posts, I’ve done quite a bit of quarantine shopping and while it hasn’t been the best for my bank account, it has helped me discover some new favorite beauty products. Below are some of the best beauty products that I’ve tried over the past few months.
Makeup
Nars Tinted Glow Booster in Tangsi
This multitasker has been helping me fake radiant, glowing skin even when maskne rears its ugly head. I love that I can use it alone, underneath/mixed with foundation/tinted moisturizer, or over my base as a liquid highlighter.
Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer
I’ve been doing light makeup looks that consists of just concealer, brows, and mascara, so I love that this concealer is a hybrid skincare/makeup product in one. It’s super creamy and I love how big the doe foot applicator.
Chanel Blush in Alezane
When I want to add a little warmth and color to my complexion, I’ve been loving this bronze-neutral tone from Chanel. I’ve been wearing makeup more to shoot content and this has been my go-to. (Full review here)
Skincare
When it comes to eye creams, I prefer something that’s really moisturizing and creamy but absorbs quickly and works well underneath makeup. That’s just what this StriVectin Eye Cream is. It doesn’t do anything fancy but it does leave my under eye area hydrated and moisturized, which is just what I need.
Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate Face Oil
I recently decided to go back to some of my old favorites from Kiehl’s after noticing that my skin was rebelling against the new skincare products I’d been trying in quarantine and the necessary masks I wear while running errands. That was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve been using this oil every morning and my skin just looks so much healthier and radiant.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate
I, of course, had to get a restock of the infamous Midnight Recovery Concentrate during my recent Kiehl’s haul and it’s as good as I remember. The lavender oil just calms and restores my skin overnight to help it look fresh and healthy.
Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution
Another old favorite I picked up was the dark spot serum to treat and prevent the marks left behind by maskne. I’ve already noticed a difference in the brightness of my skin from using this vitamin c serum.
Fragrance
I’d been wanting to try a perfume from Byredo for the longest and I’m so happy I picked this one up as my first one. It’s a warm, citrus, woody smell and I am obsessed. It’s really light, so I think I will pick up the perfume oil next so I can layer them for a longer-lasting scent.
Byredo Bal D’Afrique Body Wash
I’ve been splurging more on body care products as I prioritize my self-care beauty routine and this has been one of my favorites. As you can see, it’s nearly empty. I use it for bubble baths and showers and my boyfriend loves the smell of it. It’s a really unique scent that’s hard for me to describe so here are the notes:
- Top: bergamot, African marigold, bucchu.
- Middle: violet, cyclamen.
- Base: vetiver, Moroccan cedarwood.
Those were the best beauty products I’ve tried so far in quarantine.
