Summer is here and just as we rotate our wardrobes, we rotate our everyday makeup products. Personally, I prefer my summer face to look natural and dewy but with a glow. (I love when my highlighter is poppin’).
I switch to cream products and foundations and powders with sun protection. Every summer, without fail, I whip out my NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30. The coverage is medium but buildable and although it is supposed to be a matte finish, I get a serious skin-like glow that I am obsessed with. I have gotten friends and family members alike to try the tinted moisturizer and now they all swear by it. When I want an even lighter coverage, I go to my Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet foundation. It has SPF 15 and just evens out my skin tone and gives my face a photo finish (review here).
I always top off my base products with the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour SPF 15. This product literally gives me the best glow ever. I found out that Elaine Welteroth, Teen Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief, swears by it and I immediately ordered it and have been obsessed ever since. It’s such a unique product; it gives the perfect glow, can be used has a bronzer and it has SPF. What more could I ask for?
To give my face some color I always go to my Chanel cream blush, Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette, NARS Orgasm illuminator, and my favorite Chanel lipgloss. (This post has a lot of Chanel in it, I know.) I love cream blush in the summer; it stays put and Chanel’s cream-to-powder formula is everything. The Too Faced palette is as beautiful as it smells and I can do some many different looks with it. NARS Orgasm illuminator has been one of my favorites for years and it’s safe to say it’s not going anywhere. It looks great alone or over blush and it doesn’t slide off my face on those hot days. The gloss is a nude color that is great for every day. There’s something about summer that calls for lipgloss.
Those are the products that I return to every summer. I’d love to know what your summer makeup essentials are! Let me know below.
